This will take 2-3 lessons. It is an introduction to narrative poetry with a focus on 'The Raven' by Edgar Allan Poe. There is a focus on tension building techniques and lots of creative writing built into the lessons. There is an opportunity for students to write their own narrative poem based on well-known fairy tales.<br />

This will possibly last 2 lessons. This includes information about sonnets. The example is Sonnet 130. There are differentiated activities for this lesson, including an analysis and writing their own sonnet.
A lesson about different behaviours that carry risks. <br />
A true or false starter about laws - could be completed using white boards, or kinaesthetically. <br />
For the main, there is a series of scenarios. The students should complete the table with the risks and consequences.
This will take 2-4 lessons, depending on how long you allow for assessments.<br />
There are annotations of the lamb and the tyger. For each poem, there is a set of comprehension questions. In order to prepare for the assessment, there is a venn diagram or a table for the students to use - whichever they prefer. There is a plan outline included plus a list of connectives that could be used.
A lesson for lower ability students - they have to observe different mediums in order to gain an understanding of life during Shakespeare's time.<br />
