John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men: Character Summary
I've put together this summary a few years ago, homedrawn stick figures to boot!!
Enjoy, hope that this resource is helpful. Please feel free to leave a comment, I find them helpful.
Thanks :)

A powerpoint presentation resource for a lesson in which students were give a pre-selected advert from various newspapers/magazines and asked How did the audience feel looking at the advert. The advert was used as a model. Students were then encouraged to annotate their own copy, as in the example. After students had looked at theirs, we came up with a list together on the whiteboard, after this had been recorded, I revealed the my list. Students felt super smart as they had found the answers before they really knew the ‘question’. Great way to develop low/weak ability confidence.

An outline showing the basic features of the text type, sentence starters etc. The idea is as a teacher reference and not necessarily to give to students - handy, quick reference.
Students really enjoy this lesson.
To start, studets mindmap ideas around the word 'wind&' - there is usually a student who contributes the word &';fart' and that kicks of the rest of the lesson.
I think that the worksheets support the PPT.
Please leave a comment as to how you think you may adapt it/improve it :) Thanks
A wall display that glosses the meaning of their/there. A helpful, visual way in which to remember the difference between their and there.
I intend to enlarge the one onto A3 on a yellow background and the other on a green background.
As I've created this in MSWord, you can change the colour of the writing if you so wish - I used 'wordart&'.
A worksheet resource for those studying John Steinbeck's novel Of Mice and Men. I have put together a few questions, guessing really, what may come up in the literature exam. As part of the revision I'm going to allow my students to plan their answer in the quickest time possible. For some reason my students panic when they see the word &'method&';, so have included a few questions around that too!
Rough and ready ... time is running out so didn't have a chance to dolly it up; hopefully it is useful anyway!
:)
Reading focus lesson, students really enjoy Horowitz's story and the starter activity in the lesson.
For the true/false task - ensure students justify with specific examples their answers.
Opening letters and couple of chapters. These summaries make it easier for students, especially those who have missed a lesson for whatever reason. Handout resource worksheet.
Please feel free to leave a comment/feedback, I find it helpful in developing my resources in future. Thank you.
Planning grid to help students structure their answer before writing the final. Instead of writing out sentences on either side, I encourage students to write down keywords.
:) Hope that your students find this as helpful as mine do!
I had five minutes to prepare for a cover lesson - fortunately I had some newspapers and magazines so put together this PPT for students to work through as they read through the media.
Overall purpose would be to use language suitable for purpose and audience.
At an inset day, this idea was shared. Unfortunately we were not told the name of the student who came up with this, but I thought it was a great idea and this is the take I have on it!
I tell my students to remember how to draw the bunny and then when writing draw a small pencil sketch quickly - thus including as many of them as possible in their writing, especially in assessments.
