<p>A really useful resource to use as an aid when teaching ‘Jane Eyre’ for GCSE English Literature. This is a chapter by chapter Powerpoint with interesting contextual information and SOME summaries (not every chapter!). Also includes FOUR worksheets on the four most important chapters - delving into four chapters more deeply with extended summaries and some language and structural analysis; including questions to get the students thinking.</p>

<p>Three creative writing lessons using ‘The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe’. Each lesson lasts an hour. Includes extracts from the text, some comprehension/vocabulary exercises and some writing prompts. The children can complete the exercises and then write at least a paragraph for each session. Aimed at Years 3&amp;4, but can be adapted for other years.</p>

<p>This is for Year 3 and should take a total of two hours.<br /> It includes activities for the first three chapters and focuses on the language devices, as well as the relationship between Wilbur and Fern. There is also a persuasive writing activity which could be extended.</p>

<p>This could be for a Year 5 or Year 6 cohort and should take over 2 hours. There are two comprehension type exercises, picking out and analysing language features (foreboding and dramatic writing) and two creative writing tasks. Includes suggested homeworks and some suggested answers too.</p>

<p>This is 6 weeks worth of creative writing activities, covering Travel Writing, Poetry, Newspaper Writing, Descriptive Writing, Recipe Writing and Diary Writing. There are also some activities which ask pupils to pick our writing features for each type of writing. There are examples of each type of writing and answers for all the activities. Furthermore, I have included some suggested reading for each type of writing.</p>

<p>Contains an extract from the first Chapter of ‘The Wind in the Willows’ by Kenneth Grahame. There are some comprehension questions to show understanding and then a creative writing task. Best taught in the Autumn terms as this can be tied in with hibernation. Also includes homework task.</p>

<p>For Year 9 class, good to use as an introduction to analysing poetry. Includes a Powerpoint with contextual information about the author, a summary of the themes, and imagery and structure questions.<br /> Extension Task: Could get the children to write an essay about the poem using the answers to the questions to create PEEL paragraphs (Essay Paragraph Structure: Introduction, two imagery and one structure and then conclusion).<br /> Links well to English Literature GCSE.</p>
