Stem and Leaf Worksheets for the students to write on. <br /> Designed for the students to firstly put the numbers in the correct rows and then sort them. One leaf per square. Helps students identify modal classes and comparison between stem and leaf and bar chart.<br /> Once the sorted stem and leaf diagram is complete students can then use it to find the range and the median.<br /> Starts with whole numbers, then decimals and then back to back stem and leaf diagrams. Included is a short homework task to test understanding.<br /> I have used this resource with both KS3 and KS4 students depending on their ability.

<p>Wanted a large calculator to display in my teaching room for reference and to show where the special buttons are on the new Casio fx991 to my pupils. Was unable to find one in an online search so I made one. The dimensions of the completed calculator are given in the filename. For the medium and smaller one my jigsaw skills were not as refined as the larger one, but they all fit together in the end. Depends on the space you have to display one. I am hoping it will be a useful tool when explaining all the functions that are available and useful to the students I teach.</p>

Activity for students to discuss which average is most appropriate for the information they are given on a card. I have taught this using a Venn Diagram with over lapping regions so the students can decide if they think two or all three averages are good to use for the given information.

<p>Using the powerpoint to teach my top set in year 8 quadratic sequence formula. I have used it with middle ability KS4 group as well. It builds nicely onto the work I have been doing on linear sequences. Students are told by the teacher the second difference being a constant means that the sequence is quadratic. They are then told to trust the teacher that having this number gives the first part of the sequence of an^2 + bn +c. I…e. the value of a. Using this they build a table up to find the missing values and using knowledge on linear sequences find the remainder of the sequence. They are then given the accompanying worksheet to practice this skill. Or you could use a similar exercise in a textbook.</p>
