This is a great resource for introducing Child Language Acquisition as a topic in A Level English Language. Includes an overview of the topic, an introduction to Piaget's stages and some images from children's reading books for analysis/discussion. A colourful and fun resource.

Here are two sessions and a homework for revising English Literature. The sessions cover revision of themes and motifs in A Christmas Carol with a few sample exam questions that I’ve made, based on the AQA question paper format. Each session also starts with a quick revision starter on the poetry (Love and Relationships). Aimed at middle ability Y11s. My class needed some help with where to start revision of A Christmas Carol - and the poetry was thrown in for good measure, and this is what they find hardest.

A Powerpoint for analysing Winter Swans from the AQA Relationships anthology. I would recommend printing the images at the beginning for students to stick in the book and annotate for what they could mean symbolically, before reading the poem. My students write notes in their books first and then annotate the poem 'in best' in the anthology for homework. Aimed at middle to lower ability Y10s.
I made these for an Easter booster course for students doing the Core paper. The booklet includes a reminder of each question on Paper 1 and another opportunity to practise the skills.
This is a scheme of work I devised for a high ability Y9 class, to prepare them for studying a novel at GCSE. The first two lessons focus on context and exploring Scout's character in Chapter One. There are more resources to come on this.
