Year 7 French Resource Pack

Who will benefit from this resource pack?

This pack is ideal for Heads of Faculty & Heads of Subject who need a Scheme of Work with supporting documents, which address the requirements of the changes in the way that French needs to be taught at KS3 and GCSE. The focus is on manipulation of language; focusing on a few key irregular verbs and regular -re verbs, and using them confidently in a variety of ways.

What this resource pack contains

The contents include an editable scheme of work for two terms. It is based on the Studio series of books; Accès Studio, Studio 1 and Studio 3 Vert, with some additional units added where I saw fit. As much as I would love to, I cannot include the resources I have made as they do contain rather a lot of copyrighted materials. I have however included a homework booklet for each term, a vocabulary list with additional vocab to stretch and challenge, a verbs revision book, a powerpoint which is used to generate flashcards for learning verb conjugations, and a support booklet.

The support booklet contains generic vocabulary, laid out in sections e.g. opinions, connectives, time phrases, negatives & intensifiers. It also contains the complete vocabulary list, some explanations of tenses, a basic verb table in three tenses, how to type foreign characters on the keyboard, and a section on French phonics.

How to use this resource pack

Simply plan your class lessons according to the Scheme of Work, ensuring that the work is pitched at the grade indicated in the Assessment column. The vocabulary required for each unit is provided in the support booklet, which should be given to every pupil. Use the homework booklets as and when required, there are sections for marking, worksheets, and vocab lists to learn, this is all customisable, and could also be used as cover work.

I hope this saves you some work, please leave me a review if you have time, I’m very open to constructive criticism and would love to know if there are any further resource packs or similar I could create for you. 😊
