Like a standard pack of cards, but with one key difference. There are 4 suits each with 13 cards (pH numbers, UI indicator colours, Examples and type/strength). The can be used as a normal pack of cards to play snap, encouraging pupils to match pH number with the right UI colour, or example with the right pH number...so on and so forth. There are suggestions for games, including 'Neutral' where pupils play snap but instead of matching pHs they have to neutralise, this is a higher level game requiring a much better level of understanding so could be suited to KS4 aswell.

A set of visual cards each covering a key idea that I have found students struggle with.<br /> Each card has images and information boxes that summarise the key information.<br /> Cards include; Natural clones, artificial clones, genetic key terms, immunity, white blood cells, fractional distillation, P and S waves, wave calculations, Intermolecular forces, inverse square law, DDT, Chlorine, Sustainability and environmental impact, Genetic testing of a fetus, Blood pressure, Antigen and antibody, Redshift, Patterns in chemical names, General model of radiation, Pollutants, Catalytic converters and Polymer modifications.<br /> <br /> I use them during independent study and DIRT time as a support resource. They couls also be used for differentiation to support students. I use them when students are responding to feedback to rewrite exam questions they got wrong.

<p>A range of 6 mark questions that have been broken down to identify how phrasing, command words, diagrams can be used to understand how to answer the question.</p> <p>In addition what part of the GCSE course the question is linked to and what they should revise if they are unable to answer the question due to lacking the specific scientific knowledge.</p> <p>Each can be printed separately or as a booklet, they could also be used individually as H/W tasks or in lesson activities within the relevant topics as well as revision tasks. The mark schemes could be downloaded from Exampro for each question.</p> <p>The exam questions chosen are for the majority biology and chemistry.</p>

<p>This was developed for Yr11 for revision after the whole course had been completed in the run up to the actual GCSE exams. The lesson starts with a speed grid where students have to analyse the formulae to determine the number of elements and the number of atoms. This is followed by a review of relative atomic and formula mass. Then a task where an exemplar is provided that writes about carbon dioxide and its formula mass, Avogadro’s number. moles and how to work out the number of particles in say 0.5 moles, or how to use the formula mass and actual mass to work out how many moles of a substance there is.</p> <p>Finally there is then a levelled formula mass question task for students to apply and practice the key skills.</p>

This is a collage of images, designed to stimulate pupils to think about the different scientific disciplines (biology, chemistry &amp; physics), what they are concerned with, what the fundamental ideas are etc. It needs to be printed out A3, I have used a poster collation program to enlarge it, print it out on many sheets of A4 and put it back together as a classroom display. Pupils can be challenged to; 'find the physics pictures', find 5 different species', find the colours of the spectrum', 'find 6 energy transfers' etc.
