Using Flowol 4 children can create their own programmes to control different mimics. With out DT project of Theatres the children have designed and made their own after seeing Wicked. They have made a controllable device such as the curtain going up/down, or the witch moving across the stage.
From this they were then shown how to plan and create their own sequence to control this device using a Commotion Serial Interface. Lots of cross curricular links! Have a look at my last years project looking at Theme Parks!
This booklet was created for year 6 DT project looking at Theme Parks. The children were given the big picture of designing their own theme park which would celebrate the Olympics in 2012. This project then moved into Flowol where the children were able to control their rides using a computer program that they had created.
This activity sheet has a range of problems linking with a Christmas topic. The questions cover a range of aspects of the Numeracy Framework focused at either level 4 or 5. The problems are multi-step challenging the children to work through contextual problems.
Children can create their own missing poster. Display file on the class IWB and identify features that you would want from a missing poster, allow the children to think of ways to improve the poster. Children can then either write/draw a new poster or use ICT to create their own inserting their own image from the web as well as editing text.
This is a home work activity to kick start a 2 or 3 week Christmas cross curricular project. The aim of this project is to create an item that could be sold to children and parents from school for a good cause - or to develop an area within the school.
As this is a cross curricular project many aspects can be embedded, particularly Maths and ICT.
This booklet supports KS1 children to create a Finding Nemo toy following a visual literacy project. The children can design a toy which can be made using felt.
After using the frameworks ITP Number Dials, I wanted to create an activity that would support the link between decimals and whole numbers allowing the children to work independently on an activity that could easily be differentiated.
This proforma can be used for any area of the curriculum. To complete simply write a short description about the activity that the children have been doing and then complete the level descriptions (which can be taken straight from the National Curriculum).
At the bottom of the sheet, users can simply double click on the mini spread sheet to entre results for pupils achievements - giving percentage data.
