This weekly Literacy/ History plan was used for rememberance day to develop non- fiction writing skills as well as teaching WWI at the same time. Children became very interested in the topic and were very receptive to the information they were looking at. It led to some interesting conversations and debates about the war.

This is a weekly plan for english using the book Grandpa's briefcase. This is the first week of a 5 week plan using many different formats of writing. Across the weeks the children will create their own version of Grandpa's Briefcase. From diary writing to reccounts to creating a timeline. I have used this with the children and they loved the book and the fun in creating their own Briefcase, which they could then display to the school.

<p>Stage 1b Handwriting booklet.<br /> This booklet takes the learner through each step of letter formation using the Read Write Inc. programme. For stage 1b the focus is writing words and forming the letters correctly. The booklet has a date section for you to track when each page is complete.</p>
