These resources take a look at whether religion is dangerous, and cover the following topics: terrorism; 911; Irish conflict; holy war; just war; jihad; pacifism; and the UN. I have written this SOW to teach to our year 8's. It follows on from their year 7 topic Inspirational People - where we look at people like Martin Luther King, Nicky Cruz etc. The media clips I use are just news clips found on youtube. This is a series of lessons to teach the AS Philosophy and Ethics topic; The Ontological Argument. Some of the material in these resources have come from someone else (thank you) and I have updated them and used them in this series of lesson resources. In Lesson 4, I split the class up, and each student takes on a role of a philosopher, and they have to put together a 2 minute speech and then the students have a debate.

These are the 1st 6 lessons I use to teach Human Relationships. It includes: Love; Sex, Pre-marital sex; types of families; Cohabitation and homosexuality. All of these include Christian attitudes towards them, and examples. Students have loved them so far, and the structure of them seems to make it very easy for them to build their knowledge. I have used bits and pieces from other TES users.

I have used lots of ideas that I have got from other TES users, and adapted resources that I like from other teachers to fit in with this SOW. This is a SOW to promote the belief that religion creates peace and reduces conflict. It focuses on pacifism and inspirational people from a variety of faiths. It is designed for year 9 students, and builds on prvious topics such as 'Inspirational people' and 'Is Religion Dangerous?' If you like please comment and I'll add more

<p>This bundle contains 6 lessons covering the whole specification for WJEC Religious Studies Route A GCSE.</p> <p>Each lesson contains an A3 sheet for students to complete which divides each paper and Paper 1 theme into 9 sections. They also contain whole unit content which could be reviewed verbally as a class or printed for students.</p> <p>Each lesson finishes with PIXL exemplar exam answers to support with the longer length answers. As students learn alot of the material lower down in the school - I use this topic to teach student the higher order skills (AO2) to ensure they evaluate etc in their exam; whilst introducing some of the philosophical arguments against God.

This is the 5th lesson I teach on Medical ethics. Students watch and read about case studies to get them thinking about abortion, and whether it is morally acceptable. Students then complete a Blooms task on Biblical quotes to get them evaluating quotes and their meanings. Students then read about the different Christian attitudes and create an A3 'moral line&' outlining the different beliefs.
