Recap verbs - doing and being words. What are they? Was/were/am/is. Watch Mr Bean wake up (3min 30sec version) on You Tube (just for about a minute) -chn write down as many past tense tense verbs as they can for what he is doing. Children complete first two sections of the worksheet (Miniplenary - Chant pronouns and verbs to check subject/verb agreement. E.g. Use the sheet to help pupils understand where to place apostrophes for singular and plural nouns(irregular and regular). First get the children to classify nouns into 3 groups, on smartboard. then use diagram under box and on the helpsheet to discuss basic rules. Children write the Hungry Caterpillar story - on Monday he ate one girl's apple. On Tuesday he ate two boys&' oranges. On Wednesday he ate three ladies&'; handbags etc. to prove they understand the rules.

Play a video of your choice - John Lewis Christmas Advert 2016 is a good one or first 3mins of SING trailer #2<br /> 2. Children use cards (1 pack between 2) to make sentences using grammar feature described (write in the margin the feature e.g. past progressive). You need to model the following:<br /> Challenge 1 - Make a similar sentence using the example given<br /> Challenge 2 - Think of your own example using ideas from the video<br /> Challenge 3 - Write a paragraph about the video <br /> 3. Feedback at different intervals with children reading out their sentences and others guessing what the grammar feature was that they used.
