<p>The STAR AWARD aims to teach important life saving First Aid skills and encourage children to join in.  During the course we will cover how to deal with an First Aid Emergency,  CPR and the use of an AED , Bleeding , Fractures , Recovery Position, Choking and Burns. Each video and powerpoint (lesson) is equalivant to 1 star. There are star award certificates for each star but you might prefer to just download the final Superstar Mini First Aider Certificate.</p> <p>I am a teacher but also first aid trainer. with over 20 years experiance in both industrys. These resources have been compiled to make it very easy to follow for children and teachers.</p> <p>Open the powerpoint and follow the lesson. Each lesson has a 15-20minute video which is accessed through the powerpoint link. The videos are very user friendly. We encourage the students to follow and copy what we do in the video, either at the same time or when the video has ended. The star award course also comes with a activity pack that can be downloaded and completed after you have watched each video.</p> <p>We have developed two courses. The first one is this one, the STAR AWARD. Students can progress onto the CHALLENGE AWARD (which you can find uploaded on TES)</p>

<p>The First Aid Hero Award is designed with the primary school classroom in mind. The award covers all of the statutory guidance for Health Education and more. There are 5 lessons each with a powerpoint, videos , worksheet and a certificate for each video completed.</p> <ol> <li>What is First Aid? What is an emergency and how to stay safe.  How to get help.</li> <li>Basic Life support - Recovery Position</li> <li>Basic Life Support - CPR and AED</li> <li>What to do if someone is bleeding</li> <li>Choking and Anaphylaxis<br />  <br /> The course is designed to be very user friendly. Each lesson has a 15-20 minute video. The videos are very informative and we encourage the students to follow and copy what we do in the video, either at the same time or when the video has ended.</li> </ol>
