Lesson for higher and foundation for the Edexcel book.

Completed lesson, with a breakdown of the activities and consolidation activities.

79 slides with vocab testing covering the second part of the AQA book higher. A page with a time table of exams, which covers the las 3 units of the book and revision of the rest, is included. There is as well the vocab list, so you can just printed, give to the students and they can revise from it.

It is planned for one test per week, mixing pure vocab with grammar tests. Every slide has 10 words that the students need to translate into Spanish and another 10 from English to Spanish.

The first part of the book, covered during year 10, is here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/spanish-vocab-test-gcse-y10-11926209

I hope it is useful.

Almost 600 slides and more than 60 texts which follows the same structure to write a full mark text for 90 words. Every texts follows more or less the same grammar structures so there is enough repetition to automatize the production for the students. There are a total of 4 texts per unit (2 for foundation and 2 for higher) which have activities to practice the content of each text.

This bank of texts are a game changer which has massively improved the writing skills of my students. Its dozen of hours of work packaged on two slides.

The exam model followed is AQA but it is useful for anyone doing GCSE Spanish.

All the grammar and vocab of each module is on A5 page so the students can print them and glue them on their own books. They will not need to write ANYTHING DOWN which really speeds up the lesson.

The revision becomes much easier as in one page they have all they need to know. From my experience, this specially helps middle/bottom student, who tends to struggle with organization and using their own notes.

Bundle with all the vocabulary testing for the AQA GCSE Higher Spanish. Hundreds of slides with testing of both, grammar and single words, alongside a timetable and vocab pages for independent revision.

Your students struggle to write even in the 90 words questions? You feel you are not giving enough resources to prepare the writing independently? Do you need a material to stretch more able students?
This booklet is the answer to those problems. I have created forty questions which covers every sub topic and created phrase builders which produce and accurate answer. At the end of every sub topic, more open structures are given to more able students who aim from 6 to 9. A section of connectors, divided by difficulty, and a check the list for both questions on the writing are the end of the book.

The knowledge organiser for year Viva 2 (Year 8) it is here:

If your students seem unable to write the most used verbs without mistakes, this is the resource to use. It has all the most common verbs conjugated in the I and he/she/it form in 5 different tenses.

It has as well the most common writing expressions used during the writing (Opinion phrases, time phrases, connectors…)

It designed to be “quick-fire” activity to be shown to the students with quick sequences at the start or end of the lesson.

I have been using it at least once a week since the start of the course and the impact in the accuracy of the verbs has been massive. There is a version for higher and foundation. The latter has been used in KS3 with success as well.

If you struggle to narrow down the verbs that every GCSE student needs for their written exam, this is the document you are looking for. It has the 13 highest frequency verbs already conjugated as I, he/she and we on 4 tenses. Aside from that, every tense go alongside time phrases an connectors and on the bottom of the page there are complex structures which can be used on the student’s writing.

The document works espeacially well with the kind of student who is afraid of verb lists, allowing you to hand over the page and say “Just learn this by hearth and I promise you can write about anything”.

I hope it is helpful.

I have always hated to waste time during the lesson asking the students to write down vocab/grammar points. The content tend to be a disorganized mess which is not that useful for revision, specially with low ability students. To fix this, I just came with the knowledge organiser I am posting here.

Every unit is summarized in one page. It includes both, the vocab and the grammar. We are trying a more Mastery approach in my school so I have tried to emphasize grammar and “how thing works” instead of giving a range of set phrases.

The way I use it, it is to print two pages as one with a A5 size. The students glue to the back of their book by one side and then they have all the content for a term (taking into account that we cover a topic every half term)

I hope it is useful!

A half an hour taste lesson with a fill the gap of the song Libre (Nino Bravo) and an activity about writing opinions of music (inspired on the radio program "What would you take to a desert island)
