<p>Here are 30 guided read starter activities. They are called RIC’s (retrieval, Inference and choice questions). There are a variety of activities - some require videos and have relevant links some just have a picture and some have text (very much like SATs reading questions). Perfect for lesson starters and some can be linked to topics.</p>

<p>A small story containing SATs style questioning similar to the ones from last years paper (2018). Vocabulary, retrieval and inference questions and a 3 mark question.</p>

<p>Including edited extracts from both opening and closing statements in the OJ trial. Children will need to know the gravity of the trial and its significance of it at the time. Evidence that has been presented in court can be discussed. Very engaging lesson (can easily be stretched over a week) and can build to a class debate on whether they believe he was guilty or not.</p>

Questions include author choice, retrieval, inference, prediction and vocabulary questions.</p> <p>One A4 page with questions and a further two page story (based in the Victorian period) with accompanying questions.</p> <p>Used with my year 6 class and have proved to be very useful.</p>
