A complete paper with links to moving image clips for Y13 preparation for MEST3 exam.
I have indicative content too for Section A questions 1 and 2.
Section B questions for Identities and NDM.
Independent lesson activity. Students were challenged to find a recent story either from the week's news or their own case study to prove or disprove the critical statement.
Trying lots of ways to get them exposed to critical viewpoints with which to analyse their media consumption.
Gave prizes for best answers for 3 in a row and full house 😊
Used to help guide students with revision.
A range of tasks and the idea is they wrap the cover around the work when they hand it in. Central pages to demonstrate joined up thinking by creating a mind map of their work.

A work pack put together to support a new teacher for three/four lessons with Y13 close to the end of the course.
A range of activities for the C2 section B A level.
Uses front covers from the exam board.
A-Z sections- the answers begin with the set letter.

Tried to write an activity which was a set of A2 'generic' knowledge activities for all students in a class with very varied densities and NDM case studies!
Asks students to demonstrate a range of skills and tries to focus their revision, short focussed sentence writing, plans and review of key facts etc to check their retention of recent revision. Students completed this very well with lots of good detail.

A pack with 21 questions for different tasks for Component 1 and a revision of terminology at the start/ self check mark scheme.
Uses the original A Level set texts.

100 (ish!) questions for revision of Woman and Adbusters for A level Component 2 Section B.
Some knowledge based, some essay style, some industry focused…
Used for revision.

These look really good all displayed close to each other- cut out to be squares and the idea is constant exposure to theory and ideas.
They've been very popular so far with my students!
First batch. 16 Pages
Two texts linked to via YouTube and some questions to force students to consider unusual pairs of texts with some intentionally 'controvresial' statemtents which give them a chance to really engage with NDM an Identities theories and contemporary examples.
Had some heated discussions with some excellent student examples of texts and theories applied. Nice end of course revision with Y13- shows them they do know 'things'!
An attempt to create a revision resource of basic knowledge for Y12. A partly filled in version and a blank version for different revision tasks.
Information gathered from all over the place and all freely available on different websites but edited and cut to make it more useable for my students.
Created to help guide Y12 Media Studies Students keep on top of knowledge needed for AS Media Studies.
Also issued to Year 13 for revision of Year 12. Students printed off themselves, I provided card front covers and plastic spines.
Feedback from students has been very positive.
I have also suggested that on the Wider knowledge section (even pages), students share their own media consumption for the week.
This has helped to keep on top of weekly homework tasks and is easy to mark and offer EBIs on.
All the even pages include a terminology check, an institution to research, a theory/ theorist section and space for an evaluation task: there is one page of this kind of activity for every week of an AS course.
Version 1 of advice for students on how to aim for full marks - I know the exam mark scheme isn't broken into all these sections for each question, but students have found it useful to have smaller targets to guide their progress and targets.
Easy to use, highlight or use coloured pens to annotate.

Eduqas A level C1 section B review activities and sample questions.

Some review/ understanding activities first then space to work on lots and lots of revision questions.

Audience and Industry.

Hoping to keep my students writing (by hand!) over the summer- using this with KS3 and KS4 but would work with KS2 as well.
Just about getting ideas and having fun with writing.

Here's a unit I use with Y12 during this half term as they return from AS and are about to get engaged in the A2 course.
There's plenty here for individual as well as group/ class work and it certainly offers lots of opportunity for discussion and introducing links to theories/ concepts as appropriate and as the students start to bring them up!
Pack of sample section A questions and resources for embedding media knowledge and application- will be adaptable for new specs whatever they finally entail as all Word documents!
