Leaflet was created as a resource for a group of year 6 students whilst visiting secondary to do heart dissections. Includes an introduction to heart structure along with safety and instructions for doing the dissection and follow up work on artificial hearts.<br /> Power point to accompany leaflet also attached.

This workbook was created by me to be used by KS3 students to work on a science fair project. The aim is for the students to do the work themselves as an ongoing homework project with minimal input from the class teacher. Some practicals I will run in lesson time or after school if it is not suitable to do at home. <br /> The workbook is fully editable and could be used as a practical planning tool as a class.

sound and hearing assessments differentiated for high and low ability students. Low ability is scaffolded with key vocabulary and sentence starters where the higher ability assessments have very basic information on which students need to expand on.

Lesson based on how plants use the glucose they make during photosynthesis with comparisons to how the glucose is also useful for humans. Used as an observation lesson and worked well. Use the match up cards at the start and give one to each student as they enter the room, they then have to find their perfect match. Lesson plan also included for details.

Power point showing the story of evolution and the story of Darwin. Activities on slides with some annotations for guidance of the intended activities.

Photosynthesis revision question sheet for students along with answer sheet. I used as a group competition. The questions are differentiated so they get harder as you move down through the rows. I gave students 15 minutes to answer as many as they could and allocated points per question (1 point each for first row, 2 for second row, 3 for third row and 4 for fourth row). Students then swapped and peer marked each others using the answer sheet. Based on the new AQA trilogy scheme of work.

Power point with activities throughout for students to do with colour coded objectives. aimed at mid / low ability group but easy to differentiate up/down as required. slides annotated with descriptions of intended activities. Taught as part of KS3 and KS4 scheme of learning.

KS3 resource aimed at middle ability year 8 students. Introduction to competition and the resources animals need to survive. Then introduces adaptation and how different animals are adapted to survive in their habitat. also includes a literacy task where students analyse the decline in numbers of red squirrels and increase in red squirrels and hyperlinked clips to show for the animal adaptations.

<p>This resource has been used as a primary transition day lesson for an hour session but It is also a good lesson to use as an intro to acids and alkalis. all resources are attached and the practicals are easy to set up and carry out by the students.</p>

Resource pack used for observation lesson. Students were placed in 3 groups (or 6 groups and 2 groups at a time working on each topic depending on class size) and given 7 minutes to answer the page in their leaflet on one of the factors affecting our lungs. They then swapped information sheets and did it again until the sheet was completes. Students then peer assess. Individual assessment questions then answered by students using only their own leaflets to help them. Worked well as an observation lesson.

There is an assessment grid with objectives grouped into mastery categories for the topics. The RAG objectives are these statements broken down into grades for the students to use and teacher to use when marking etc. Designed around the new KS3 AQA scheme of work.
