<p>Use this game to embed learning of the naming and properties of amines.<br />
Every time the game loads the questions and answers are randomised.<br />
This content is related to Edexcel A-level chemistry.</p>
Make measures of mass and height and round to the nearest g, m or cm. <br />
Labels with blank number lines to lead to mastery of rounding.<br />
PowerPoint contains intervention slides at the end to help support students with their understanding.<br />
Excel file includes heights for mountains from internet sources.<br />
<br />
Theme for the PowerPoint is based on the idea of a learning journey. Some students may need to go for a boost (at the services) whilst some (Going Beyond students) need little input as they are in the "fast lane" and capable of independent learning.
Estimate the answer, work out the actual answer. Use the difference between the estimate and the actual answer to find the colour for each question. Colour in the associated numbered squares and reveal the superhero or villain.
The PowerPoint follows the Kagan approach of shoulder pairs. The discussion builds on rules that are likely to be known from KS2. The rules for 3 and 9 are investigated using a calculator to check if the rule holds. The challenge cards extend the rules to other numbers - 4, 8, 7 and 11.
<p>These four files can be printed and then cut. The colour of cards gives a visual clue of the type of ion (red hot for positive ions, cool blue for negative ions)</p>
<p>These can be used in a variety of ways:</p>
<ul>
<li>Matching name of anion to formula of anion</li>
<li>Matching name of cation to formula of cation</li>
<li>Rummy type games lay down compound’s formula</li>
<li>Interpreting compound names to give the formula</li>
<li>Using ions to name compounds</li>
</ul>
<p>These can be used as a good way of embedding the learning of these key facts.</p>

Template giving the chemical tests for organic functional groups needed for chemistry AS. Encourages developing the use of correct terminology to describe the results. Print off and get students to fill in, or fill in on the presentation itself.
Methods of multiplication reviewed via a PowerPoint with links to videos to illustrate the method on You Tube. The video is accessible via QR code or by the link on the pdf document.<br />
If notes are printed these could provide review cards that would allow students to access the videos explaining the method on tablets or other devices. <br />
Methods covered include Grid, Column, Napier's Bones, Egyptian, Russian, Vedic and Mayan.
<p>Use this test to gamify the learning of core chemical tests. Every time the game loads the order will be random. There is a 60 second time limit.</p>
<p>This resource was produced for Edexcel specification 2011. However, a high proportion of this core knowledge will also be on the new specification.</p>
<p>There is a data base of 39 questions which the game randomly picks 10 questions from. The game can be one or two players.</p>
