Full unit of work for Ellen Raskin’s The Westing Game. Including powerpoints, worksheets and rubrics for essays. A heavy focus on comprehension and inference.

Full scheme of work created for Grade 11 (US Curriculum), content can easily be adapted to meet the needs of British Curriculum.
Within, you will find: lessons, worksheets, projects, quizzes and plans.

This CPD session has been designed to encourage and develop a whole school literacy approach. I have uploaded my Powerpoint and handout. I do recommend that you edit it to suit your school and needs.

Completely annotated John Donne poems from the A Level AQA Anthology.
This is my interpretations of the poems and I’m sure there’s much more in there but it’s definitely a starting point. My students from this course gained grade C and above.

Full SOW for Beowulf. Taught to grade 12 (US Curriculum) but suitable for year groups 10-13. Includes powerpoints, resources, unit plan, project and rubric. A focus on comprehension, theme and analysis.

This SOW was created for a LOW ability Grade 12 set. Hence the suitability for a Grade 10. It can be adapted to be suitable for grade 13.

Disclaimer: I do not own the PDF of the text but included for your convinience, this is not for sale, it is an added extra.

This is a missing grammar activity (I'm using it for low level year 8). I've made a passage from The Boy in Striped Pyjamas without grammar and attached the original as well.
A structured template to assist students when comparing the two poems.
I am going to annotate both poems briefly at the beginning of the lesson, then model one paragraph using PETER. The pupils will do the rest (finish for hwk if necessary).
