Les animaux de la ferme

(4)
Simple and fun introduction to farmyard animals and the noises they make. There is a game (see below). There is also a slide with the words to 'Old Macdonald had a farm'. Towards the end there is a slide with all 5 animals on. You would play a game of 'Slaps' with 2 pupils trying to touch the correct animal as you say the word (name of animal or animal noise) or 'Beat the teacher' where you say the word as you point to the animal. If you say it correctly the pupils repeat, if you are incorrect they must stay silent. If they are totally silent they get a point, if anyone speaks, you get the point. I play 'Beat the teacher' all the time, even with KS4, and they love it!

This is challenging as it makes use of synonyms, but the pupils really enjoyed it!
