A recently observed lesson which was graded as Oustanding. Covers OCR AS Biological molecules - Enzyme inhibitors and medicinal/poison examples. Taught as a station of activities (so laptops/computers needed for certain stations). Boardworks animations have been embedded which may or may not work on the stations.

The attached powerpoints were modified from getrevising. The Hardy Weinberg worksheet can be used with revision 8 - 15. Note the numbers refer to the section numbers used in the OCR A2 textbook.

Introductory EPQ assembly so as to inform students what the extended project qualification is. Includes school specific sections but these can just be deleted.

Adapted from the fuzzy facts activity by lorilou. Instructions: Each pair in the class is given a worksheet with a statement for which they become the 'owner' - and write names in the box. The sheet then gets passed around all other pairs in the class (1 minute per sheet like a circus). These pairs read the statement and decide if it is true or false and write any questions/comments they have in the comment box. The sheet eventually gets returned to the owners who must then decide what the correct answer is and provide an explanation for any questions others have put.

Covers OCR AS Food and Health lesson on HIV structure, incidence rates, epidemiology and lifecycle. Requires computers for the stations of activities and an iPad app called HIV visualizer (although not essential) on station 3.

A sequence of lessons to initially cover the knowledge of heart disease and then lead into a case study for students to complete. I completed this as a year 8 prep to GCSE case study (iPad's optional!)

The attached PowerPoints can be used in assembly or during an after school club to inform students about getting into medical school/entrance exams/fees and funding etc etc.

THANK YOU TO RCPAYNE for supplying the original which I have modified. This spreadsheet allows you to enter raw scores for each end of unit assessment, it then automatically converts this into a grade and works out value added (how much above or below their minimum target grade they are) There is also a running value added at the beginning which can quickly be used to highlight those that are falling behind. You will need to change the formulas slightly for your own centres test scores.

Given as an application workshop for students planning to apply to medicine/dentistry/veterinary - this followed on from a higher education day off timetable
