WJEC Food Preparation and Nutrition Revision Infographic - Nutrients

(15)
A mind map I made with basic information about nutrients from the WJEC Eduqas Food Preparation and Nutrition Course (new spec).
This particular mind map has proteins, carbs, fats, vitamins, minerals and trace elements. I plan on putting this on a larger sheet of A3 along with other infographics I plan to make for revision, and leave spaces around each one so students can add additional notes. I will upload the completed revision sheet and other resources I have made separately.

Bridge Building Challenge

Great activity to use as an introduction or support when teaching structures. I did this as a recap activity at the end of the term and did a similar tower building activity at the start of the term. It uses minimal resources and the kids found it to be heaps of fun.
I did it using the tool well in the tables in the workshop, but if you don’t have these, using stacks of textbooks or similar can work to make the valley they need to build a bridge across (this will need to be changed in the PowerPoint).
Prior knowledge would need to have covered strong geometric shapes in structures (if you want to use the starter activity) but you can just change the starter to suit your scheme of work.

I found the resources for Lesson 1 from another user on tes (willo79 - your resources were great!) and modified them to suit my students.
I used this as a starting point to make resources for my other lessons on Numbers and Selection.
Each lesson has a PowerPoint Presentation and a worksheet that goes with it.

AQA GCSE DT KNOWLEDGE TRACKER

An interactive way to keep track of your student’s knowledge for the AQA GCSE DT Specification. Based around a RAG concept (without the amber).
Simply populate the cells in each topic sheet with any value to turn them green (1.1, 1.2, etc.) and the document will calculate percentage knowledge for that topic and display this on the Overview sheet.
Attached is the Excel version of this document but I prefer using it on Google Sheets as we use G Suite in school. There is a link to the G Suite version in the Excel document (simply open the link and make a copy)
Alternatively, upload onto Google Drive and use it on Google Sheets (there seem to be no compatibility issues)

Food Spoilage Revision Infographic

A quick overview sheet for the topic of Food Spoilage - based around the WJEC Eduqas Food Preparation and Nutrition course. It isn’t very detailed but can be used to help students with their revision (where they have to look into each item further) or even as a revision map for LAP students who are struggling with higher level questions.

GCSE Edexcel D&T Overview

A course overview infographic I put together for the Edexcel GCSE Design and Technology course. It’s really simple and not very detailed but something I wanted to use to show the students what the course will be like.

The file is a print version PDF
