LO: To say and write simple sentences about clothes

KS2

The lesson introduces vocabulary about 6 items of clothing, e.g. un pull vert. The first few slides are flashcards. The resource then moves on to drawing on children’s memory skills identifying which words are missing, i.e. the noun or the colour adjective. The difficulty progresses as the word prompts are removed. The task is to write simple sentences about clothes using the opener: Je porte… Children can extend the challenge by listing more than one item of clothing in their sentence using ‘et’ (and). To finish, there is a puzzle to unjumble the letters to reveal the hidden clothes words.

The lesson introduces the structure ‘Je voudrais…’ to use in a letter to Father Christmas. Some Christmas present vocabulary is introduced and a scaffold provided for the letter.
