<p>A fully planned 6 week unit on Tudor England suitable for KS2 (most suitable for Year 5 and 6). This unit meets the requirements for the National Curriculum and can be used in a cross curricular fashion with links to English, ICT, Maths, Geography and Science, and potential links to DT and Art.</p> <p>This unit comes with a Medium Term Plan (MTP), PowerPoint slides and many resources. All resources mentioned in the MTP are provided, as are extra resources should you wish to add to the planning.</p> <p>Lessons are desgined to be 2 hours in length and can be spread across multiple ‘lessons’.</p> <p>Lesson sequence:</p> <ul> <li>Lesson 1: Exploring new topic through artefact analysis</li> <li>Lesson 2: Creating a timeline of Tudor Kings and Queens</li> <li>Lesson 3: Exploring the Reformation of England and Henry VIII’s subsequent marriages</li> <li>Lesson 4: Henry VIII (analysis of sources)</li> <li>Lesson 6: Creating the Tudor Family tree</li> <li>Lesson 6: Life as a Tudor (comparative study of life as a rich Tudor and poor Tudor)</li> </ul> <p>Everything needed to teach this unit is included and all resources have been made by me.</p> <p>There is lots of scope for more lessons (such as Elizabeth I) which I may add if I can teach more lessons on the Tudors.</p> <p>Please leave a review as it helps me improve my planning!</p>

English National Curriculum full unit of work w</p> <p>This resource includes:</p> <ul> <li>PowerPoint complete with all lessons, including grammar (over 100 slides)</li> <li>All worksheets needed to complete all lessons</li> <li>A model GDS write of Alma</li> <li>Checklists and keys for writing and editing lessons</li> <li>Scaffolding materials e.g. writing scaffo and wordbanks</li> <li>EAL friendly with lots of clip art and images. PowerPoint slides aren’t text heavy</li> <li>Extension activities for more able pupils</li> <li>Lessons which meet a range of learning styles: discussion, visual, auditory-based lessons, independent work, class work, group and partner work.</li> <li>All activities to be completed independently are modelled as a class first.</li> </ul> <p>PowerPoint overview:</p> <ol> <li>Semi colons lesson with corresponding worksheet and answers included</li> <li>Predictions with corresponding predictions table, discussion-based focus and soundtrack analysis</li> <li>Recapping language features with opportunities for recalling prior learning, examples, definitions and opportunities for children to write their own</li> <li>Analysis of GDS model write, using a key to identify language features (included as a printable). Resource for independent, partner or group editing included as a resource.</li> <li>Analysis of authorial intent and choice. Children learn about symbolism and how the film makers have made specific choices to create an atmospheric film. Children create a word bank of atmospheric words to be used.</li> <li>Planning a narrative opening - includes prompts for planning ideas ahead of narrative opening Big Write.</li> <li>Writing a narrative opening - reminders of what to include and which resources can be used, all of which are provided in this unit of planning.</li> <li>Editing lesson - reminders of what to edit and resources which can be used to edit e.g. checklists</li> </ol> <p>Powerpoint slides include different icons to make it clear to teacher and class what is expected: thinking, discussion, new learning and independent work.<br /> Notes are also used for some slides as a prompt to teachers or contain answers if teacher is unsure.<br /> There are animations in the PowerPoint which may look strange when viewing as a document (e.g. overlapping text) but there are no issues in presentation mode.</p> <p>Please note: This planning is for a narrative opening only but can be easily extended for the entire piece.</p> <p>I have included scaffolding materials for the entire film should you want to do a longer Big Write.</p> <p>Please leave a review to help me improve my resources and let me know what worked well.</p>

Can be used as a morning starter or as a game/quiz during Golden Time.</p> <p>Dingbats are visual word puzzles from which a well known phrase or saying has to be identified. It’s a great way to teach pupils new phrases and have them test their critical thinking skills.</p> <p>There are 34 slides but I will add more over time.
