These flash cards contain the symbol, name and picture of the main equipment used in science labs. They are great at helping year 7 to learn the equipment. They can be used as flash cards or as a game of snap if cut up. I have used them in every lab I have worked in, and a whole dept. when i was HOD, to label equipment cupboards as it reinforces symbols and helps weaker students to learn vocab.
This is a useful resource both for formal observations and peer obs as it allows staff to see what area they need to improve on by using sectional gradings.
Teachers /NQTs/BTs can also use the checklist on its own for self assessment and reflection on their own practice.
