<p>This word mat has a words and phrases to help children start and end their sentences when writing a setting description. It has synonyms for look, see and hear to encourage children to use a range of vocabulary in their writing. It enables children to independently create a range of different sentences and has been particularly useful for opening sentences in different ways.</p>

<p>This word mat provides ideas for children to help write their own sentences using personification, similes and metaphors. It also provides some vocabulary for effect.</p>

<p>This task is linked to time tables and allows children to problems solve and reason. Children are given criteria for each person based on the day and time of their appointment that they use to work out what appointment each person could have. There is an answer sheet attached but is not necessarily the only solution</p>

<p>This is a set of posters that explain how to use different types of punctuation with examples. These were designed to support year 6 children in knowing how and when to use a range of different punctuation but could be used across key stage 2 when they are introduced or in key stage 3 as a reminder.</p>
