Axial The longitudinal section of the human skeleton that includes the bones in the head, ribs and backbone. Appendicular The bones forming limbs and limb girdles that joining limbs to the axial skeleton. Ligament A fibrous connective tissue which attaches bone to bone. Tendons A strong fibrous collagen tissue that attaches muscle to bone. Fontanels Membrane filled spaces between cranial bones of newborn babies. Osteoblasts Cells that make bone.
