Two lessons on the Cuban Missile Crisis which put pupils in the position of the American President in the build up to the crisis and the crisis itself.
This lesson has been developed using some of the resources from the site studyhistory.co.uk. It begins by presenting the general attitude towards Mary with the nursery rhyme. Pupils then read about the common story and work in pairs to explain the two pictures which would support the argument that Mary is 'bloody'. They are then presented to a more balanced argument with the card sort which is followed by a tennis debate and a levelled piece of writing. Hope it's of some use.
Students carry out Dragon's Den style pitches. The information to help with the pitches is on the final few slides on the PPT. Credit for the idea for this resource needs to go to one of my department Miss N Brown.
An assembly for BHM which begins by focusing on discrimination in the USA and then looks at similar events in the UK.
I have had to remove music from the files to be able to attach them. I use the Razorlight song 'America&' in the background of the Rosa Parks story PPT.
