Hi, I spent a while making these for my jolly year 9 class and thought I'd pass them on. It's just PowerPoints and activities for the first part of aqa B1a. If anyone finds them useful I'll stick up the rest of the topic!

Self-directed PowerPoint that students can use on their own or could be used in class to help them work out the formulae of simple ionic substances. Let me know if it helps!

Animal cell and plant cell practical and specialised cell PowerPoints. They have detailed picture methods which are quite good for SEN students. There are plenary activities at the end - the slides can be put on an interactive whiteboard for the best effect. There's a T/F quiz at the end of the Specialised Cells one. Hopefully they will save someone a bit of time!

I've just made this game for my year 8/9. It's a bit like a popular board game! They can pick questions which are: pictionary based (on whiteboards) sculpting with plasticine mime Taboo style (describing) But with a science theme (general science topics from year 7,8,9 with some extras thrown in). These are some of the resources I used when running a Bronze CREST Award in a day in Hampshire. We also used Chocolate Craft, The Alresford Chocolate Company to run a session on marketing chocolate and making chocolate. GCSE year 10 topics are tested, but there are also lots of general knowledge and fun rounds. It could really be adapted for any subject.
