This is the 8th lesson in my scheme of work for 'Animal Farm' designed for top set Y7.
This lesson focuses on reflection on the key events in Chapter 5. It starts by guiding the students to focus on Napoleon's actions with the dogs towards Snowball. Then students are encouraged via Think/Pair/Share to develop more independent reactions and reflections on what has taken place. This should develop into a detailed class discussion.
The lesson ends on reflecting on the most 'important' character right now in the novel, at its crucial half way point.

It uses a very vague comprehension approach with engaging with chapter five- no main task or real focus. No LO- no targets- just the skeleton of a lesson and that is generous. Of absolutely no use.
