'Dracula's Castle' Year 7/8 play.

This is a play aimed at Ks3 pupils (but could be younger or older). I do this play in one term and either do it as a whole class performance, or have two smaller groups. The Powerpoints have embedded sound effects, and activities on making characters. Learning Objectives, can range from, how to behave when coming on and off stage, knowing entrances and exits, working on accents and characterisations, line learning and taking part in a ‘whole play’, rather than just a scripted exerpt.
It is also good for physicalisation as some classes, ‘become the bus’ while others create the bus with chairs but then use their bodies to create the motion of the bus.
There are characters with few lines and characters with more lines, to ensure that the lesso is differentiated and there is the opportunity to have a ‘technical’ student to do the sound effects and any music.
