☻☻☻ CHINESE NEW YEAR 2016 ☻☻☻
►LEARNING OUTCOMES◄
Students will learn plenty of new vocabulary words through engaging and challenging activities. They will work individually, in pairs or in small groups to include variety in lesson dynamics.
Before getting to read the texts, students can work in pairs to match words with pictures. Reading comprehension 1 is about the year of the monkey and the meaning behind it. Students can work on this text on their own or in pairs. For the second text, which is split in 4, I suggest to create 4 station and make students rotate in order to find out 10 facts about Chinese New Year through 4 different and engaging activities. They will, then, engage in a writing activity to compare Asian and Western traditions. The unit will be concluded with a revision crossword which will bring them back to the very first activity to review the vocabulary words learned in it.
