Here’s what’s inside:

Learn all about how caterpillars go through a magical transformation to become a butterfly and paint your own beautiful butterfly. We’ll explore a garden food web to discover what’s really living below the soil, our recipe is making little chocolate pots - to remind us that without insects we’d have no chocolate! Our eco hero card features an amazing scientist who studied how bees behave. Our I Spy card will get you off on a bug hunt, plus there’s a postcard you can use to start a campaign to protect these tiny creatures. We’ll get you out foraging for mushrooms and show you how to paint with their ink. There’s a quiz to test your insect knowlegde, a pledge card and 20 insect facts to wow your friends. There’s also 2 activity cards packed with eight fun puzzles so you can start becoming an insect expert immediately!

Activities include making an insect pooter to get up close to the critters in your garden, we’ll show you how to get grubby and investigate soil bugs, we’ll get you raiding the recycling box to make egg box ants (and learning how many body parts they have in the process). We’ll also get you outside in nature and making a home for insects.

There’s also a little something for grown-ups inside to help you answer any insect questions as well as a useful glossary.
