**Multi-step word problems _(reasoning/mastery)_ Years 5/6**

I designed these differentiated worksheets and supporting flip-chart after teaching the four operations in detail to a Year 6 class. The resources were made to encourage children to think more deeply about the language of mathematics and the order of operations prior to solving and jumping head first into calculating. The lesson includes plentiful opportunities for reasoning (e.g. through prove right/wrong questions) as well as supporting visuals such as bar models and part-part-wholes.
The supporting worksheets are differentiated two-ways and easily adaptable.
