8 weeks of Guided Reading Planning for the book 'Seasons of Splendour'

This block planning is based around the text ‘Seasons of Splendour: Tales, Myths and Legends of India’, written by Madhur Jaffrey.

The structure of the guided reading planning is:
D1- Reciprocal Reading
D2- Reading Comprehension
D3- Follow up task

There are notes in the PPT comment section along with a grid where you can add your pupil’s names and a timetable across the week. After 3 days, a new tale from the text is looked at and tasks are related to that particular story.

I used this for my Year 4 class however, it can be used for Y5 and Y6 too. This was used as whole class guided reading, where I focused and worked with a different group each day.
