Team game which builds up the skills required to solve equations, beginning with missing number problems and moving through inverse operations to solve 1 step equations. Put pupils into teams and get them to answer the questions on mini-whiteboards. They need to risk their points based on how confident they are that their answer is correct. A nice way to engage students by providing a competitive edge to solving simple linear equations. This allows for group work and will help you get a gauge of students' confidence levels when it comes to their understanding.
