A Case Study; The Women's Co-operative Bank; Colombo

This case study fits into both the Geography A Level Curriculum and the Development Studies A level Curriculum and looks at how micro-finance can be used to improve the lives of the urban poor whilst giving communities the opportunity to develop confidence and community leadership skills. You can also use it in gender studies to show how the empowerment of women leads to measurable improvements in the quality of life for all.
