A 22 lesson fully resourced scheme of work teaching Dracula for the new AQA NEA. I have taught Dracula to the whole class as the compulsory pre-1900 text and have then allowed the class to choose their second text. The scheme focuses on the independent learning of the students and I have taught the themes that might be used as the basis for the NEA rather than teaching the text in its entirety. Themes covered include: gender fluidity; illness, insanity and imprisonment; setting; the gothic male; the gothic genre etc. Resources include: powerpoint lesson, critical and wider reading, example NEAs (AQA) and some work on critical theory.
NB: when teaching the critical theory part of the scheme I have used children's picture books but you could use any text or stimulus. The zip file in the main file contains resources taken from TES.

Some great resource materials, however there seems to be a chunk of the Dracula ppts missing based on the SOW that is attached, the freud slide for example, marxist critiques and other Dracula based ppts - could you add them to the file please? Thank you
Some useful resources. Do you have a copy of the applying critical theory ppt please? The one downloaded is simply of images.
