I’ve been covering the Normal Distribution with my Y13 A-level mathematicians 30 minutes a week, after school. This is the booklet we’ve been working our way through steadily. I haven’t taught this topic before so borrowed the content from other TES contributors (thank you) and added a mind map to the front to categorise the sections within the booklet and types of questions to expect.
- Finding simple probabilities
- Finding critical values for a given probability
- Finding the mean or standard deviation using the standard Normal distribution
- Approximating the Binomial
- Hypothesis testing when sampling from a Normal distribution
Please let me know if it’s any use to you or how it could be improved. Thank you!

This just might be what I'm looking for.<br /> Thanks
Lots of these questions are from the amazing Susan Whitehouse. I like your (mind map) cover sheet, will be using it with my boys tomorrow.
