This covers topic 4: Sports Psychology: Attribution Theory. You get the students worksheet, teachers worksheet with answers and powerpoint. Students will have to use books as well to answer the questions as there are independent studies in the worksheet. Plus exam questions at the end. Please note that you may need to alter the powerpoint as I do my lesson on a mac. Furthermore, I am dyslexic, so sorry for any mistakes.
• Knowledge and understanding of reasons for success and failure in sport.
• Understand Weiner’s attribution theory and the four attributions: ability, effort, luck, task difficulty.
• Describe the three main dimensions of attribution: locus of causality, locus of stability and locus of controllability.
• Outline strategies to allow for attribution retraining.
