A reading extract question from the book ‘A Monster Calls’ by Patrick Ness.
The layout of the assessment reflects the question style and format of the GCSE English language and Literature papers. (List questions, questions on building tension, questions on writer’s technique, how and why questions).
Questions are differentiated and get progressively more challenging to reflect the content and style of the GCSE English Language and Literature papers.
Each question has a score awarded and every line of the extract is numbered as in the GCSE examination so, for each question, pupils are signposted to specific parts of extract making it more accessible.
