Tired of struggling to find just the right text for your genre unit? I was so I decided to write my own. These are short texts around 500 words each, written with the KS2 National Curriculum for England’s literacy objectives in mind.
The first is an information text linked to my sci texts which details the lifestyle and living conditions of a Yeti. The children had to write their own version using my example for structure and layout.
The second text is an advert for a new product. My was a pen to improve the messiest of handwriting. The children had fun inventing their own and creating the advert for it following the structure of my own .
Marking ladders are attached which show which text features I have focused on.
