A powerpoint explaining the difference between active and passive sentences using sayings to help children remember. Active sentences are 'finger pointy' as we are saying the subject did it! Passive sentences are a bit more relaxed, the subject still did it but we aren't pinning the blame on them so much.

I've also used the idea that if the ending can be replaced with 'by zombies' it is passive. I found that this helped my children in their SATs tests, particularly when the active and passive sentences were quite complex.
