Being a military wife, I've taught at 8 different schools in the past 11 years in 4 different states! But, moving around this much has exposed me to so many valuable teaching experiences that I wouldn't change it for anything. I have taught all grades from 5 - 12, and just about every conceivable subject matter. Mostly, I've focused on teaching students with learning disabilities, which is one of the motivating factors behind my Ph.D. in Educational Psychology.
In this activity, students will practice their math skills (adding and subtracting decimals) as they color! Students will answer the exercises and then color their solutions on the picture with the indicated color to reveal a beautiful, colorful mandala. This coloring activity is perfect for upper elementary and middle school grades as the mandalas are fun, geometric patterns that the students enjoy revealing as they color. This activity is excellent for sub plans, enrichment, extra practice, or just plain fun! As an added bonus, the completed activities make beautiful classroom decor.

I am always looking for a fun color by number activity for the standard that I am teaching and after completing their assessment, I like to give them something fun to relax their mind but they are showing application of the standard through the coloring activity. The students loved the activity.
