Adding & Subtracting up to 20 Worksheet

This worksheet is appropriate for Entry Level 1 Mathematics and complies with Government, Pearsons and City and Guilds subject content. The work covers content area 1: using numbers and the number system- whole numbers, and challenges students to add and subtract numbers from and up to 20. This worksheet specifically targets E1.3 and E1.4, but it also uses the skills required from E1.1 and E1.2.

The Entry Level 1, Content Area 1 is as follows:
E1.1 Read, write, order and compare numbers up to 20.
E1.2 Use whole numbers to count up to 20 items, including zero.
E1.3 Add numbers which total up to 20, and subtract numbers from numbers
up to 20.
E1.4 Recognise and interpret the symbols +, – and = appropriately.

This worksheet includes 45 sums divided into 3 rows. There is a row of addition and subtraction exclusively, and the final row is a mix of sums which shall appropriately challenge the students.
