This activity explores and examines the point of view of Al Capone, a powerful and infamous figure during the Roaring Twenties who thrived in the era of Prohibition. Students will analyze Capone’s perspective on crime, business, law enforcement, and everyday life in the 1920s through his reflections on the time period. They will then answer corresponding scaffolding questions to better understand how the era’s cultural shifts, legal changes, and underground economies shaped this dynamic — and often controversial — period in American history.
