• expand products of algebraic expressions

Basic graphs of functions
You should be able to:
• demonstrate familiarity with Cartesian coordinates in two dimensions
• interpret and obtain the coordinates of a straight line
• construct tables of values and draw graphs of functions of the form y = ax where a is a rational number
• understand graphs and symmetry and demonstrate an ability to reflect graphs of a given line
After completing the lesson you should be able to:
• understand the terms domain, range, one to one, inverse function and composite function
• identify the range of a given function in simple cases
• find the composition of two functions
• determine whether or not a function is one to one
• find the inverse of a one to one function in simple cases
• illustrate graphically the relation between a one to one function and its inverse
