Starter

5 simple Qs to get eveeryone engaged.

Main

Print the questions out on five different colours. Teams receive one question and some post it notes.

One pupil organises research from the textbooks, exercise books, internet etc… and writes the answer on a post it.

Another pupil brings the answer into you. Correct answers go on the scoreboard slide, incorrect or undetailed ones are sent back with a hint. I play first to 8 wins, hence as one team pulls away I deal them harder Qs (lower down the sheet) or demand a greater level of detail.

Other pupils are researchers.

Plenary

To follow up I print the sheet again on white and pupils cut out the Qs and stick them by a single edge into books, then answer them on the back. Hand teams their own answers back.

Usually I can cram this into 50 minutes, but it is really an hour’s work.

Top tips - get two pupils to assist in the scoreboard and checking answers, they can even assist struggling groups.

Thanks BBC Bitesize, I used your website as the information sheet.
