Resources to help students write a guide with the title ‘How to become the president of the United States.’ Attached is a powerpoint to show as a starter t the students and an extract from US Government and Politics for A Level by Anthony Bennett for the students to independently read. You can then ask them complete this as a written document, a PowerPoint or as a video.
This needs to include:

the constitutional (legal) requirements to be president.

The extra constitutional requirements (things the candidate will probably need in order to stand a chance of getting elected.)

Some examples of when candidates succeeded having broken the ‘rules’.

A timeline for the key events in the election process – the invisible primary, primary and caucuses etc. and the dates when these occur.

Names of the winning/losing candidates and their party in at least three Presidential elections.

A paragraph on why the invisible primary is important, quoting some key names and statistics to support your argument.
