I use these worksheets once we have done lots of oral practice with expanding sentences using my Animal Adjectives Picture Card resource. The idea is they can make a list of nouns, adjectives and verbs from the picture to help them in expanding their sentences using adjectives. I usually suggest that they orally rehearse their sentence first, and they like to share their sentences at the end to see who has used the most adjectives. There are four sheets in total, each with three different pictures on.

Noun Verb Adjective Adverb Resource Pack
Here are a selection of activities that I use to supporting the teaching of nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs. I use them in small group work with EAL and SEN children, but they could also be used for whole class teaching. I usually begin with the sorting activity and then build on this using the other resources and lots of repetition, until they become confident in expanding their sentences both verbally and in their written work. I always try and use a multi-sensory approach to learning and these activities have proved both successful and fun with a variety of children.
Animal Adjectives Resource Pack
These two resources can be used to support children in developing their speech, language and writing skills using adjectives. I start by using the Animal Adjectives Picture Cards first to do lots of speaking practise so that the children become confident in expanding their sentences verbally. Once they are successfully expanding their sentences verbally, then I encourage them to transfer this skill into their writing using the sentence building worksheets.
