A lesson by lesson scheme of work (21 lessons in total) aimed at a high level (grammar school) Year 10. Includes 20 powerpoint presentations to accompany the lessons.
The lessons plans are easy to follow, are accessible but challenging, draw upon a range of stimuli and include a wide range of activities.
I created this scheme of work over the course of a summer holiday. Lots of hours went into this. I’ve used this scheme myself for the last two years, as have the other English teachers in my department. The students always enjoy the lessons.
Too much of a focus on historical context when this is the lowest scoring element. Was expecting more detailed powerpoints.

Apologies that you didn't find the powerpoints detailed enough. They are meant to serve as aids to detailed lesson plans but they admittedly will not work for teachers who want to teach lessons slide by slide. There is certainly a lot of context at the beginning of the scheme, but this is deliberate so as to set the foundation for high level interpretations (AO1) later on. For this particular novel I don't think it would be possible to teach students how to develop Level 9 interpretations without a thorough understanding of context first. I hope your students responded well to the lessons.
